State tax credits available for eligible donations

PHILIPPI — Heart and Hand House Inc., still has Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP) tax credits for eligible donations made between now and March 15, to its Home Repair and Construction Program. Businesses or individuals who contribute may receive up to 50 percent of the contributed amount in the form of state tax credits that can be used to reduce liability for the West Virginia Corporate Net Income Tax or Personal Income Tax. Credits are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis and can be applied to the current tax year if donations are received by Dec. 31.

For more information or credit availability, contact Brenda Hunt at 304-457-1295. Information about the Neighborhood Investment Program may also be found on the West Virginia Development Office’s Community Advancement & Development web page at http://wvcad.org/sustainability/neighborhood-investment-program.
