ELKINS — A representative from Armstrong “AHF” came Feb. 6 to present a plaque to the first ever AHF Student of the Month at Elkins High School. Taylor Oldaker, an 11th-grader, was selected for the month of January. She won a $25 gift card and was presented a plaque. When asked what ways she had to work to achieve this award, she responded, “I showed up to school and tried to make the best of every situation.”

Oldaker is a student athlete and was asked how she reacted to receiving this academic award; she replied that she was “shocked, and had no idea that this was going to happen, but I am so honored.”

Any Elkins High School student could be the next winner by showing character, attending school, and showing a strong work ethic.
