The Administrative Officers and Finance Committee are deep into the budget process these days, with the WV State Auditor’s deadline for submission only a little over a week away.
Finance has a Special Call meeting set for Monday at 4 p.m. to make final adjustments to the fiscal year 2020 budget before recommending it to city council for approval.
Also next week, the Historic Landmarks Commission will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Darden House and the Municipal Properties Committee meets Wednesday at 8 a.m. in City Hall. Both of these bodies will continue discussions of the Darden Carriage House, among other things.
On Wednesday at 5 p.m., at the Phil Gainer Community Center, the Parks Commission will convene. These meetings are always packed full of information about what’s happening around our city parks and facilities.
Finally, 7 p.m. Thursday is a regular council meeting, during which the body will consider the proposed FY20 budget, discuss the possible use of city funds for the acquisition of condemned properties at tax sales, and many other agenda items.
All city meetings are kept up to date on the calendar page of the city website and are open for the public to attend.
