HAS plans STEAM day

ELKINS — Highland Adventist School plans a STEAM day from 8 a.m. – noon March 15, and area students are invited to attend.

The day will include a variety of experiments and activities that will lead students to learn about many properties of water.

The program includes cleaning up an oil spill, creating a piece of water art, experimenting with various kinds of water currents, and more. Lunch will be provided.

“Our students really enjoy STEAM at our school and we hope we can include other students from our community in the fun on March 15,” states Cheryl Jacko, principal and event coordinator. “This half day STEM event is free and open to all students in our community.”

To attend the free STEAM day, students must register by March 13. This can be done by calling 304-636-4274 and leaving the student’s name, phone number and grade level or by emailing the school at highlandadventistschool@gmail.com with the same information.
