CANAAN VALLEY — Highland Adventist School students hit the slopes at Canaan Valley State Park recently. Each student chose either skiing or tubing for the day. The field trip was one in a series of recreational events planned each year for the school’s Outdoor Skills program.

“One key component of Brain Based Learning research is the importance of fitness and exercise to learning success,” stated Cheryl Jacko, principal. “Our outdoor recreational skills program is just one way we work to develop lifetime fitness habits in our students. It was great to see some of our students try out winter sports for the first time. They had a great time!”
