Elkins High School seniors honored
ELKINS — Five Elkins High School graduates were honored Wednesday in a recognition ceremony for their decision to join the West Virginia National Guard.
“These are the future leaders of West Virginia and it’s an honor to mentor these students and watch them develop and grow from student to soldier,” said Staff Sgt. Scott E. Derring Recruiting and Retention NCO.
“We’re proud to welcome these, and all of our newest soldiers into the West Virginia Army National Guard, where they’ll receive up to 100 percent tuition assistance, career training, employment assistance and an opportunity to serve their community and country,” he added.
