Repaving project set at Stuart Recreation

ELKINS — The entrance road to Stuart Recreation Area (Forest Road 391) on Monongahela National Forest near Elkins is due to be re-paved as soon as June 10.

The work could take place anytime between June 10 and June 27. The project is expected to be completed within a few days, weather permitting.

The entrance road will be closed to motor vehicle use from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each workday, Mondays through Thursdays, and reopening after 5 p.m. Repaving will stop before weekends and the road will be passable at any time Fridays through Sundays.

Pedestrians will be allowed to walk alongside the road to access Stuart Campground and Day Use Area during the repaving project.
