Upshur SWA awards $1,200 to schools
All nine Upshur County Schools, with over 3,700 students, participated in a “Bounty” recycling contest as conducted by the Upshur County Solid Waste Authority in the 2018–19 school year.
A total of 84,680 pounds (42.34 tons) of paper, plastics or metal cans were collected and recycled at the City of Buckhannon Recycling Center.
The contest was based upon the pounds per student for each school.
