Community yard sale planned
BELINGTON — The Friends of Audra Foundation is hosting a community yard sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the pavilion on the grounds of Audra State Park.
Superintendent Jon Teets said, “Our annual fundraising yard sale helps the community get involved in improvements that directly enhance amenities and services for our campers, day use constituents and visitors of the park. It’s something that camp staff and Friends of Audra collect items for all through the year.”
Teets added that, from funds raised over the past two years, improvements to the campground store have been possible.
“Our hope for the money raised in the past was to create a ‘community’ atmosphere at the store, which is the central hub of the campground,” he said. “Money raised at the yard sale contributed to the construction of a covered porch and the purchase of nice, comfortable furniture. Now, campers and visitors can relax and socialize, as well as check out the store and all of the camping items, refreshments and logo items that are available.”
The yard sale will feature donated items including clothing, household items, toys, collectibles, and homemade refreshments. Nick’s ice cream truck will be on site in the afternoon.
