VIP awards given at St. Joseph’s Hospital
St. Joseph’s Hospital has honored three employees as their Valued Inspired Persons (VIP). Receiving this award were Karen Woofter, Mark George and Amy Jo Davis.
“Each of these employees is extremely deserving of this award,” said Sue Johnson-Phillippe, president and CEO. “They exemplify the values of our hospital and help to create the culture of excellence that defines our organization.”
Karen Woofter works in the housekeeping department of St. Joseph’s Hospital. “She lives the mission and values of the hospital each and every day,” said Evelyn Murphy, Support Services secretary.
“She is kind, dependable and giving, is caring to patients, visitors and other employees and is extremely trustworthy. She provides all the little extras to ensure that patients are satisfied. She is also a great supporter of our Relay for Life team and is willing to share whatever she has with someone in need.”
Mark George is the Technical Services supervisor in the Information Systems department of the hospital.
“Mark always displays a heartfelt dedication to the mission of the hospital,” said Brian Williams, director of Information Systems.
“He gives up personal time in order to make everyone feel welcome and shares a warm and inviting sense of humor with all. His resourcefulness and energy was made especially obvious during the power outage of last summer’s storm. He rose to the occasion with tireless energy and commitment in the worst of circumstances. He is extremely deserving of this honor.”
Amy Jo Davis is a radiological technologist in the Imaging Department.
“Amy Jo has a positive attitude, strong work ethic and her willingness to help has no boundary,” said ER Dr. McGushin and co-workers. “She assists patients and staff alike and her positivity during stressful times sets everyone at ease. She makes people smile at the most difficult of times. We are proud to have Amy Jo as a co-worker.”
St. Joseph’s Hospital presents its VIP Award to employees who live and demonstrate the Christ values of the hospital: compassion, hospitality, reverence, interdependence, stewardship and trust.
