Chamber director resigns
The head of the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce resigned her position Thursday, just four months after accepting the job.
The resignation of Kathleen Moore is effective immediately. She gave no reason for her departure, said Chamber of Commerce president Sam Nolte.
“I was surprised by it,” he said. “She had a lot of wonderful ideas and initiatives.”
Moore became the executive director of the organization in November. She was unavailable for comment.
“While we have goals we are working toward as a Chamber, we are optimistic this will not inhibit their achievement,” the Chamber of Commerce’s executive board stated in a press release announcing the resignation.
Tammy Reger, the Chamber’s administrative assistant, will handle the daily operations of the organization.
Nolte said the executive board, which met Thursday morning to accept Moore’s decision to step down, has not decided which avenue it will take in finding a replacement.
Moore has lived in French Creek for the past 13 years, operating a rescue farm for horses, dogs and cats.
