Philippi Elementary School declared clear

West Virginia State Police have declared Philippi Elementary School clear after K-9 units searched the school following the receipt of a bomb threat Tuesday morning.

Philippi Chief of Police Jeff Walters said a note containing the bomb threat was discovered inside the school at approximately 9:30 a.m. Police found no dangerous materials inside the school and had declared the school safe at 3:30 p.m. Students were successfully evacuated to Philippi Middle School. The threat is under investigation and the Philippi Police Department is asking anyone with any information to call the police department at 304-457-3700, ext. 224.
