Beverly election slated Monday

Beverly residents will head to the polls Monday and exercise their right to vote and elect a mayor, a recorder and five council members. Even though the seats are all unopposed, representatives say it is important that folks turn out to vote.

Those running for re-election are Mayor David Harper; Recorder Barbara Smith; and council members Jay Gillespie, Rodney Cooper, Tina Pritt, Connie Pingley and Katie Whittaker.

“We must have at least 20 people vote in the election to keep our city charter,” said Kathy Weese, Beverly town hall representative.

The polls will open at 6:30 a.m. Monday and close at 7:30 p.m. at Beverly Town Hall.
