Coalton mayor, council re-elected

A total of 18 people cast votes in Coalton’s general election Tuesday, officials said.

James Rossi was re-elected as mayor and will add to his 21 years of service in the position. Rossi said he is looking forward to the challenges of another term. Rossi was unopposed in Tuesday’s election.

“It’s always a challenge with a small town,” Rossi said. “It’s hard for small towns to survive because of budgets and available funding.”

James’ wife, Pat, was re-elected to her seat on Town Council, as were Mike Wilson, Jim “Tug” Ross, Donna Long and Levi Wiseman. All five council members were running unopposed.

The term of service for both the mayor and council positions is two years.

All results are unofficial until the votes are canvassed on Monday. The winners will be sworn in July 1.
