Deputies forced to corral cattle on U.S. 33
West Virginia State troopers and Upshur County sheriff’s deputies were forced to corral cattle Thursday after they heard a report of the livestock wandering aimlessly on U.S. Route 33 in the western end of Upshur County near Lorentz.
Trooper B.K. Wright with the Buckhannon detachment of the WVSP said officers were alerted to the situation around 6 p.m., and the cattle were rounded up and returned to their owners by dark. Deputies and state troopers provided traffic control along the four-lane highway.
Wright said this has been an ongoing problem, but that no charges have been filed.
