FirstEnergy donates to RCCAC

The Randolph County Community Arts Center accepted a $5,000 donation from the FirstEnergyFoundation at a check presentation ceremony on Friday.
The FirstEnergy Foundation awards grants to nonprofit, educational and cultural organizations in their service areas and local communities.
“It’s intended to help communities grow and prosper,” said Greg Hefner, FirstEnergy manager of external affairs. “We recognize the positive impact made by the Arts Center in Randolph County and the surrounding area.”
“We don’t get too many donations of that size,” said Kurt Barkley, RCCAC executive director. “It will be used for our operations portion of the budget, which includes art education, the concert series and our exhibits.”
The Arts Center, a non-profit organization promoting the arts in Randolph County and surrounding areas, is located at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Park Street in Elkins. The RCCAC is supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act through the National Endowment for the Arts and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.
