W.Va. novelist to teach creative writing at D&E

The breathtaking Cliffs of Moher on the West Coast of Ireland set the stage for myth, magic and mystery in “The Silver Tattoo,” written by Laura Treacy Bentley, debut novelist, book editor, poet and West Virginia native whose work has been widely published in the United States and Ireland. She will be teaching creative writing at Davis & Elkins this summer during the West Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts, June 29 -July 21.

Readers are calling the novel “a virtual tour for the senses” and “a dark literary thrill-ride.” American sci-fi and fantasy wordsmith Ray Bradbury has hailed Bentley as “a wonderfully gifted writer.”

With vivid detail and stunning characterization, “The Silver Tattoo” chronicles the story of protagonist Leah Howland as she deserts her eerily psychic husband and flees to mythical Ireland only to become entangled in the dangerous web of a stalker who leaves her increasingly gruesome calling cards.
