Upshur woman charged with mail theft
A Rock Cave woman is being held in the Tygarts Valley Regional Jail in lieu of a $15,000 bond after authorities alleged she was stealing mail.
Rebecca Frame, 51, is facing a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny, according to the complaint filed in Upshur County Magistrate Court.
The complaint stated that the West Virginia State Police and Upshur County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a woman walking along state Route 20 in the Hinkleville area. When officers arrived, they reportedly discovered Frame carrying mail and a GPS unit.
The complaint stated that Frame told officers the mail was hers, but none of the items contained her name. Dispatchers with the Upshur County Communications Center told officers they had received reports that Frame was removing mail from boxes, according to the complaint.
Frame was also allegedly in possession of an electronic banking card bearing another person’s name, the complaint stated.
