BEVERLY – Sweet smells of homemade breads, cookies and candies, along with fresh baked breads, teas and jams and jellies filled the air at the Marketplace Saturday as they offered samples of many of the goodies offered at this third location of the Elkins Farmer’s Market.

Kelly Hatton, who sells her wares from the Marketplace, said many folks were stopping by to taste and purchase items offered.

Artisans and farmers selling their items at the Marketplace offered the event to help kick-off the holiday season and to let people know where they are and what they offer.

“We have had quite a few people stop by,” Hatton said. “Lots of people were happy to discover we were located here in Beverly and offering our items for sale.”

Hatton, who has sold her homemade jewelry, fresh eggs and vegetables with the Elkins Farmer’s Market at Elkins Town Square for years, said the Marketplace is a blessing.

“Even though the weather is getting cold, we have a venue for our market goods,” Hatton said. “At the Marketplace, you will find items like jewelry, lampwork, hand-blown glass, hand-forged pieces, paintings, drawings, soaps, lip balms, candles, rugs, salves, photos, wood items and crocheted items. We also sell eggs, fruits, vegetables, wild edibles, plants, flowers, honey, baked goods and syrup as the season allows.”

The Marketplace is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Additional information is available online at or on Facebook at
