Main water line breaks in Elkins
ELKINS – The city of Elkins Water Department issued a boil-water advisory Sunday at 2:30 p.m. following a main line water break on Wayne Avenue. Elkins Mayor Van Broughton said crews were continuing to work to restore water when he spoke with The Inter-Mountain at 5 p.m. Sunday evening.
“The main water line ruptured, and everyone is working to get it fixed,” Broughton said. “Those residents in Elkins, Midland PSD, Leadsville PSD and Huttonsville PSD need to boil water until further notice.”
Broughton said he was unsure how long the boil water advisory would be in effect.
“Residents can check our Facebook page for updates,” Broughton said. “The city Facebook page is listed under Elkins City Hall, and there is a link with instructions to boil water so it is safe.”
