Elkins man arrested on robbery charge

ELKINS – An Elkins man was arrested Friday afternoon on a robbery charge, court documents state.

Jonathan Streets, 18, was charged with one count of robbery after sheriff’s officials received a call from a woman who reported that Streets allegedly harrassed her in his vehicle as she was driving home on Jan. 16, according to the criminal complaint.

Streets allegedly followed the woman to a car wash and continued to harrass her. When she took her cell phone out to take a picture of his vehicle’s license plate, Streets grabbed her arms and took possession of her phone, the complaint stated. Streets then drove off and left the woman, who had her child in the car with her, at the car wash, police said.

The victim was able to identify Streets in a line-up, the complaint stated.

Streets was arraigned by Magistrate George M. Riggleman and is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond, Sheriff Mark Brady said.

Additional details will be available in Monday’s edition of The Inter-Mountain.
