Traffic passing stopped buses in Barbour
PHILIPPI – The Barbour County Commission on Monday received complaints from local school bus drivers who claimed that vehicles have been ignoring their extended stop-arms and illegally passing buses stopped to drop off or pick up children.
Commission President Tim McDaniel announced Monday at a regular meeting that he has received several letters from bus drivers in Barbour County saying that they have had this occur.
“It’s a huge safety issue,” McDaniel said.
He said the drivers were asking for the Commission’s help to get the message out to the public.
