ELKINS – U.S. Representative Shelley Moore Capito will offer political comments as guest speaker Sunday for the Randolph County Republican Executive Committee Lincoln Day Dinner, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Elkins County Club.
The social hour for the event is from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and the dinner begins at 1:30 p.m.
Reservations for the dinner should be made by calling Carolyn Jackson at 304-636-1019.
Capito serves the West Virginia Second Congressional District and is a candidate for U.S. Senate. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 2000 and has been re-elected six times.
If elected to the U.S. Senate, Capito says she will fight to create jobs and a stronger economy with a comprehensive energy plan using American natural resources, including coal.
Capito said she is striving to strengthen the health care system to encourage accessibility while lowering costs to bring a much-needed political change and gender diversity to the U.S. Senate.
