Taste of Home to offer variety of vendors
ELKINS – One of the favorite take-home items from the Taste of Home Cooking School is the gift bag, stuffed with magazines, recipes, coupons, samples from national sponsors and other items. This year’s gift bag is sponsored by Valentine Personal Care Home of Elkins, and is suitable for reusing for grocery shopping or an anytime tote bag.
The Taste of Home Cooking School is slated for Thursday at the National Guard Armory, just off Route 33, near Belington. The vendor fair begins at 2 p.m. and offers those attending the opportunity to visit and see new items. The cooking demonstration with Taste of Home culinary expert Cheryl Cohen is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by The Inter-Mountain.
Valentine Personal Care Home will have a booth at the vendor fair, owner Rhonda Talbott said.
“We have helped as a sponsor and participated in the Taste of Home Cooking School each year The Inter-Mountain has sponsored it,” Talbott said. “I think setting a display during the vendor’s fair gives people the opportunity to learn more about what is offered in Randolph and the surrounding counties. We also think bringing a national event such as the Taste of Home Cooking Show to the area is important and well-received by the community.”
Debbie White, a registered nurse at Valentine Personal Care Home, enjoys all parts of the Taste of Home Cooking School.
“I like seeing all of the vendors and meeting people who stop by our booth,” White said. “I like watching and learning at the cooking school demonstrations. We also have a basket of goodies we give away at our booth during the vendor fair.”
This year’s Taste of Home Cooking School will offer an ugly apron contest, an oldest cookbook contest and many fantastic surprises.
General admission tickets for the Taste of Home Cooking School are $12 and include admission and a gift bag. VIP tickets are $20 and include admission, a photo with culinary specialist Cheryl Cohen, a light reception prior to the show and a gift bag.
