Man arrested after incident during party
MOATSVILLE – A Moatsville man is facing a malicious wounding charge after allegedly striking his brother with a truck during a party.
James Scott Alexander, 33, was arrested by West Virginia State Police Sgt. John Wyatt, arraigned in Barbour County Magistrate Court and released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond, all on Monday, according to the Barbour County Magistrate’s office.
Alexander faces one felony count of malicious wounding after his alleged involvement in a Jan. 1 incident at a holiday party in Moatsville.
Through a state police investigation, Alexander was discovered to have attended a New Year’s party at his father’s residence where he engaged in an altercation with several men, according to the criminal complaint.
During the alleged altercation, the defendant reportedly got into his truck and used the vehicle to strike his brother, Jonathan Alexander, who had to be transported by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, according to the criminal complaint.
The alleged victim was treated for his injuries, the complaint continues.
