Barbour grand jury indicts 22

PHILIPPI – A woman accused of causing the death of two people in an alcohol-related wreck was among 22 individuals indicted by a Barbour County grand jury Tuesday.

Janel Marie Sturm, 28, of Baden, Pa., was indicted on two felony counts of driving under the influence of a controlled substance or drugs causing death, and one felony count of child neglect resulting in death.

Sturm’s charges stem from a single-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 250, north of Belington, on Oct. 28. She allegedly lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the roadway and flipped on its top, police said. Travis W. Felton, 29, and seven-week-old Raele Marie Felton were both ejected from the vehicle and died.

Authorities said methamphetamine and other controlled substances were in Sterm’s system at the time of the accident.

Other individuals indicted Tuesday included:

– Ronald Christopher Posten, 29, of Belington, was indicted on three felony counts of sexual assault – third degree.

– Robert Edward Bulakto, 27, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of sexual assault – third degree.

– James Scott Alexander, 33, of Moatsville, was indicted on one felony count of malicious wounding.

– Matthew Lewis Ball, 21, of Clarksburg, was indicted on one felony count of breaking and entering, one felony count of petit larceny, one felony count of grand larceny, one felony count of destruction of property and one felony count of conspiracy.

_ Vincent Gregory Baisi, 20, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of breaking and entering, one felony count of attempted burglary and one felony count of conspiracy.

– Mitchell Allen Duckworth, 25, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of burglary, one felony count of petit larceny and one felony count of conspiracy.

– Andre Llewelyn Johnson III, 20, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of being an aider and abettor to breaking and entering, one felony count of burglary, two felony counts of conspiracy, one misdemeanor count of destruction of property and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.

– Monie Jo Mayle, 40, of Canton, Ohio, was indicted on two felony counts of destruction of property and one felony count of conspiracy.

– Charles Anthony Schillinger, 41, of Canton, Ohio, was indicted on two felony counts of destruction of property and one felony count of conspiracy.

– James Christopher Wellman, 20, of Clarksburg, was indicted on one felony count of breaking and entering, one felony count of grand larceny, one felony count of petit larceny, one felony count of destruction of property and one felony count of conspiracy.

– Michelle Renee Skidmore, 42, of Belington was indicted on six counts of possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge, seven felony counts of conspiracy and four felony counts of forgery.

– Kelly Jo Skidmore, 40, of Junior, was indicted on two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge and one felony count of conspiracy.

– Travis Lee Adams, 34, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab, one felony count of possession of substances to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine, one felony count of exposure of a child to methamphetamine manufacturing and two felony counts of conspiracy.

– David Scott Croston, 31, of Clarksburg, was indicted on one felony count of operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug lab, one felony count possession of substances to be used as a precursor to manufacture methamphetamine, one felony count exposure of a child to methamphetamine manufacturing and two felony counts of conspiracy.

– Donald Lynn Sullivan, 31, of Volga, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence – first offense.

– Russel John Tingler, 28, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one misdemeanor count of possession of a controlled substance.

– Christa Lynn Marshall, 39, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of embezzlement.

– Shelia Eillein Arbogast, 43, of Beverly, was indicted on four felony counts of forgery and four felony counts of uttering.

– Gary Michael Marsh, 36, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol – third offense.

– Charles Darrel George, 40, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of failure to register as a sex offender.

– Brianna Morgan Witek, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance by misrepresentation, fraud, forgery, deception or subterfuge, and one felony count of conspiracy.

Arraignment hearings will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday and at 9 a.m. June 10 in the Barbour County Courthouse. Indictments are mere accusations and all individuals are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
