Bike struck by car on Third Street

ELKINS – An accident in downtown Elkins sent one individual to Davis Medical Center Thursday afternoon.

A bicycle collided with a Chevrolet Cavalier at the intersection of Third Street and Kerens Avenue shortly before 3 p.m.

“From what I can tell, it was the bike’s fault,” said the investigating officer, Elkins City Police Corporal R.W. Belt. “He ran out in front of her.”

No citations were issued at the time of the

incident.

Names and the extent of injuries of those involved were not released as of presstime but Belt said the cyclist was transported to DMC.

The Randolph County EMS responded to the scene.
