Police investigate vandalism in Elkins

ELKINS – The Elkins City Police Department is investigating two acts of vandalism that occurred over the Memorial Day weekend.

According to police, windows were broken at the Rivers of Living Waters Church, located on Lincoln Avenue and in a van belonging to Youth Health Services, according to Lt. B. R. Canfield of the EPD.

“I think three stained glass windows and a smaller basement window were busted using a landscaping stone,” Canfield said of the church vandalism. “We think it is the same person because they just had to walk down the alley (between the church and Youth Health Services).”

Canfield said the vandalism was reported on Tuesday, but police believe it happened Saturday evening.

“Nothing was stolen, just vandalized,” he said.
