Parsons man charged with sexual assault
PARSONS – A Parsons man is being held at Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $25,000 cash only bond after being charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a child.
Corey A. Cochran, 19, was arrested Tuesday by the Parsons Police Department on one felony count of sexual assault in the first degree. Cochran is accused of engaging in sexual acts with an 8-year-old boy during the summer of 2013.
The alleged victim advised Child Protective Services and child advocate workers that Cochran did “make him perform oral sex on him and then threaten to do him bodily harm if he told anyone,” according to the criminal complaint. The acts allegedly took place in the boy’s home.
On Tuesday, after being read his Miranda Rights, Cochran gave a statement to police that “he did in fact make the victim give him oral sex, three times during the summer of 2013,” according to the criminal complaint.
