Bank donates to YMCA pool project

ELKINS – The Elkins-Randolph County YMCA has been on a campaign to raise $500,000 needed to make necessary repairs to the pool roof and wear and tear on the facility because of humidity and age. Citizens Bank of West Virginia’s Monday donation edges the pledges and donations to date right to the half-million dollar mark.

Bank president Tom Derbyshire said the donation is what Citizens believes in doing for its community.

“We are pleased to make this financial gift to the pool project and continue our long-standing relationship with the YMCA where citizens of Randolph County can go to fulfill healthy lifestyles and wellness,” Derbyshire said. “We know many families benefit from the programs and services offered at our Y.”

The bank is a YMCA corporate partner and provides memberships to the banks 65 employees and board members.

“The Elkins YMCA thanks Citizens Bank for their generous contribution to the pool renovation project – a positive investment in the community,” Gillispie said. “Our Y is grateful for the bank’s continued investment in the youth and residents we serve each day.”
