Parsons man charged with sex assault

PARSONS – A Parsons man is housed in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $21,000 cash only bond after being accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Leonard James Wilson, 23, was arraigned before Tucker County Magistrate Carol Irons on 10 counts of sexual assault in the third degree, a felony; two counts of sexual assault in the second degree, a felony; and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.

According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim, who was 14 years old at the time, was “picked up on Mackeyville Road” by Wilson and “transported to a place where he could drive into the woods.” The girl told police she was “messed up on drugs” and Wilson had “sex with her after she told him to stop.”

Wilson reportedly gave the alleged victim more drugs, which she believed to be bath salts and hydrocodine. She told police after Wilson had sex with her again, he “threw her in the back seat and drove back to Mackeyville and he just threw her in the ditch,” the complaint states.

The girl told police she had sex with Wilson 10 different times between January 2013 and October 2013.

Wilson’s preliminary hearing is slated for Wednesday in Tucker County Magistrate Court.
