Girls in Pearls event slated for Aug. 14

MORGANTOWN – You can play a starring role in advancing leadership opportunities for girls by joining in a special ode to Hollywood and walking on the red carpet and celebrating “Girls In Pearls”, a ladies-only event to benefit the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond Council (GSBDC).

Riding on the success of last year’s inaugural event, GSBDC is hosting another stellar party on Aug. 14 at Benton Grove Bed & Banquet. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a stroll down our star studded Walk of Fame; followed by heavy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, an auction and live musical entertainment by Almost Blue.

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to mix and mingle with some of the region’s most notable women in business, education, politics and the community – all while serving a wonderful cause and helping to advance leadership opportunities for girls in our area.

Tickets are $50 per person and guests can register online by going to and clicking on the “event info” tab. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, contact Princess Young, Chief Development Officer, at (304) 345-7722 or email her at
