Officials seize $60K in drug bust
WESTON – The Lewis County Sheriff’s Department seized more than $60,000 in drugs and $20,000 in cash from a home and were searching for the resident who lives there, officials said Tuesday.
“The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Mr. Darley McCray,” a press release from Sheriff Adam Gissy on Tuesday morning stated. “He is wanted on five felony drug offenses along with one misdemeanor firearm offense.”
Thirteen pounds of marijuana, 22 grams of methamphetamine, 114 hydrocodone tablets and 47 oxycodone tablets with a street value of $62,7000 and more than $20,000 in cash was seized when officers executed a search warrant on McCray’s residence located in Ireland, police said.
“Mr. McCray could easily be considered one of the largest dealers in our county, and quite possibly within a tri-county region, those counties being Lewis, Upshur and Braxton,” Gissy said.
McCray was listed as a pre-trial felon on the Central Regional Jail website Tuesday evening. No specific charges or bail amount was listed. McCray was listed as a new admission to CRJ at approximately 5 p.m. Tuesday.
