SNOWSHOE — Local favorites the Davisson Brothers Band perform on Snowshoe Mountain as part of the ski resort’s “Beats on the Basin” winter series today and again for the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Connection nightclub Saturday.

The “Beats on the Basin” concert begins at 10 p.m.

The band has played often at Snowshoe and can boast a die-hard following at both Snowshoe and around the regional area.

The Davisson Brothers Band brings to the mountain a unique style, fusing a blend of country, southern rock and bluegrass to create a distinctive sound that can spark a crowd.

Their sound, combined with the band’s talent and energy, has gained them a loyal and rapidly growing fan base.

Brothers Donnie and Chris Davisson, cousin Sammy Davisson and life-long best friend Aaron Regester are continuing musical pursuits started by the Davisson family over 15 years ago. Davisson Brothers song lyrics and sound tell powerful stories of their family history and lifestyle in West Virginia.

The band recently worked with acclaimed producer Keith Stegall on their first national single, “Jesse James.”

The Davissons, known for their fast-paced booking of multiple performances in compacted time periods, are no strangers to the hard work it takes to be noticed.

“In our business, all we have ever known to be true is that hard work pays off and no one hands you anything,” the Davissons wrote on their website.

“We are happy to announce that a new single and album from the Davisson Brothers Band will be coming in 2017,” the website also reads.

The Davisson Brothers Band kicks off the “Beats on the Basin” winter concert series Friday in the Connection at 10 p.m.

January scheduled bands and “Beats on the Basin” dates include the Pietasters on Jan. 6, Medicated Sunfish on Jan. 13, High and Mighty Brass Band on Jan. 20 and Dangermuffin on Jan. 27.
