The 13th annual Holiday Artists Market was hosted Friday and Saturday in the Great Hall of The Arts Center in Elkins.

Vendors included artists who are members of The Arts Center. Most are from Randolph and surrounding counties, but one came from Charleston to showcase his work.

Chet Lowther, a visual artist from Charleston, made the trip to offer holiday shoppers original paintings he has created throughout the year.

“The Arts Center is very fortunate to have so many talented artists as members, from as far away as Charleston,” The Arts Center Executive Director Kurt Barkley said.

Artists featured a bevy of hand-crafted items for sale including hand felted items, original paintings, pottery, jewelry, quilting, silks, ceramics, basketry and more.

Over the two-day market, more than 100 shoppers and art lovers made their way to The Arts Center.

“We had a great turnout and everyone had an excellent time,” Barkley said.

Barkley said the Artists Market is a staple of both The Arts Center and the holiday season and is one of his favorite events of the year.

“It’s a real pleasure to be able to spend two days with so many of our artists and our community,” Barkley added.

In addition to the vendors, live music was provided on site by Katy McClane, Linda Wolfersheim and Lynne Serba. Cookies, coffee and other refreshments were available for patrons.

A portion of all proceeds from the event will go toward future events at the Arts Center
