Officials Receive Laptops
Local law enforcement agencies are presented with laptop computers and citation printers Tuesday afternoon by Margaret Walker of the Governor’s Highway Safety Program. The new units can be permanently placed in cruisers and allow officers to print citations as opposed to handwriting them. The West Virginia State Police began using them two years ago as part of a pilot program, Walker said. From left are Walker, Tucker County Sheriff Brian Wilfong, Elkins Police Department Senior Patrolman B.D. Tice, Randolph County Sheriff Mark T. Brady and Randolph County Chief Deputy B.T. Sharp. The Parsons Police Department also received a unit but officials with the agency were unable to attend.
