Third Ward Elementary School students and teachers were intrigued Wednesday afternoon during an assembly featuring exotic animals from all over the world. The visiting presenters are employees of Barn Hill Preserve near Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who are known for their educational animal programs. Students were educated on multiple animals including a ball python, bearded dragon, southern three-banded armadillo and a red kangaroo. Barn Hill Preserve’s Michael Budetti, above, released the kangaroo to roam among eager students.
