HAMBLETON — A Tucker Valley kindergarten class has a group of future actors and singers on their hands.

Crystal Hardy’s students showed off their talent by performing an end-of-the-year musical production of “E-I-E-I-Oops!” in front of family and friends at the school.

“E-I-E-I-Oops!” is a musical that is based on how important it is for friends to show support and encourage one another. They discover how actions affect others and how much better it is to be a positive influence than a negative one. They realize we all do better when we help others do their best!

“I did the play last year with my kindergarten class, and the kids really enjoyed doing it. So, I decided to do it again, make it a tradition,” Hardy said. “All of the kids in the class participated and had lines they had to memorize.”

Nearly 75 family members filled the cafeteria, excited for the show. Each student had their own costume based on which character they had to portray. Old MacDonald and his wife, Piggly; Wiggly; Little Bo Peep and Mr. Rooster were some of the characters featured. Hardy’s teacher’s aide, Ms. Dian, was a big help in getting the students prepared for the show and preparing the set.

How do you get a class full of 5- and 6-year-olds to memorize songs, individual lines and some dance moves?

“Practice! Practice! And some more practice,” Hardy said. The group has been practicing everyday since March, she added.

The cast members and their families were treated to a decorative barn cake and juice after the finale. They also enjoyed a Power-Point, full of photos from the various activities the class had done throughout their kindergarten year
