Baxter Wins Statewide Award

The West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office presents the 2017 ‘Our Legacy, Our Future’ historic preservation awards Sunday at West Virginia Independence Hall in Wheeling. Phyllis Baxter of Elkins received the Betty Woods ‘Snookie’ Nutting Award for exemplary service to historic preservation. Baxter, left, is pictured with Nutting and Randall Reid-Smith, commissioner of the West Virginia Division of Culture and History. The award is named in Nutting’s honor for her longtime commitment to historic preservation in Wheeling.
