ELKINS — Leaders with the Randolph County Humane Society are reflecting on the recent success of the seventh annual Spay-ghetti Dinner Fundraiser, which generated more than $4,400 for the RCHS spay and neuter programs.

The RCHS served more than 700 meals at the event, which took place Feb. 24 and proved to be the largest Spay-ghetti fundraiser to date.

In memory of a local teacher and cat lover, Jean Lawrence, the RCHS received more than $770 for its Trap-Neuter-Return program. Donations for the program are ongoing.

The RCHS volunteers are now preparing for the agency’s next event, “Wine, Spirits & Whiskers Pizza Party” at Vintage Restaurant & Wine Bar on March 21.

The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. with a cover charge that includes pizza, appetizers, one glass of beer or wine and a “Meow-Mosa” toast at the end of the evening, in celebration of all the things that the RCHS has accomplished for Randolph County animals over the past year, thanks to community support.

Tina Vial, board president of the RCHS, encouraged everyone in the community to attend the upcoming event.

“We’ll feature a wine pull and lots of fun with friends, and hope everyone will come out,” Vial stated.

Located at 195 Weese St., Elkins, the Randolph County Humane Society is a nonprofit animal shelter serving the homeless, neglected, stray, unwanted and abused animals of Randolph County. More information is available by calling 304-636-7844 or visiting the agency’s Facebook page.
