Work continues on phase I of a two-phase project to replace the roof of the Randolph County Courthouse in Elkins. The work is being done by Forbes Copper Works, LLC, of Lewisburg. The Randolph County Commission received a $100,000 grant for phase I of the project. Randolph County Commission President Mike Taylor said phase I is expected to be completed by next week, and next year, the commission will apply for another grant to assist with completing the $194,400 project. The roof being replaced is the structure’s original roof that was placed on the building in the early 1900s.
