Barbour Co. grand jury indicts 25
PHILIPPI — A Barbour County grand jury returned 25 indictments this week, on charges including child abuse, delivery of a controlled substance and escape.
Greg G. Lawrence II, 29, of Belington, was indicted on five felony counts of child abuse resulting in injury and one felony count of child neglect resulting in injury.
Earl J. Mayle, 56, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of strangulation and two counts of domestic battery, second offense.
Donald L. Blake Jr., 39, of Junior, was indicted on three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance and two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Ashley M. Louk, 30, of Belington, was indicted on three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one felony count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act.
Ronald L. Sturm, 57, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of delivery of a controlled substance and one felony count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substances act.
Amy J. Coontz, 36, of Philippi, was indicted on three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
William M. Harris, 50, of Philippi, was indicted on three felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance.
Brian D. Sipe, 34, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one felony count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act, one count of fleeing on foot and one count of no operators license.
Thomas J. Tomey, 31, of Elkins, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one felony count of conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act and one count of providing false information to an officer.
Edward M. Wiseman, 31, of Mabie, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, one felony count of driving while license revoked, third offense, one count of fleeing on foot and one count of failure to appear.
Jamie W. Goodell, 44, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and one felony count of escape.
William K. Moss, 29, of Grafton, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and one felony count of failure to appear.
Brian K. Thompson, 38, of Junior, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Brady L. Mayle, 27, of Grafton, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
David J. Biggs, 26, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
Jerry L. Bennett Jr., 29, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of escape.
William T. Desantis, 27, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of escape.
Brandi N. Edwards, 25, of Philippi, was indicted on one felony count of escape.
Michael P. Anderson, 41, of Belington, was indicted on one count of escape.
Christopher G. Ross, 40, of Elkins, was indicted on one felony count of fleeing in a vehicle showing a reckless indifference to the safety of others and one felony count of driving while license revoked, third offense.
Shelby R. Bowman, 21, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of burglary, one felony count of uttering, 11 felony counts of forgery, 11 felony counts of uttering, one count of destruction of property and two counts of fraudulent schemes.
Misty D. Kovach, 37, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of financial exploitation of an incapacitated person.
Brandon L. Likens, 29, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of grand larceny and one felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle.
Charles O. Wyatt, 22, of Belington, was indicted on one felony count of entry of a building other than a dwelling and one misdemeanor count of petit larceny.
Ira D. Freeman, 51, of Moatsville, was indicted on one felony count of driving while under the influence of alcohol, third offense, and one count of driving while license revoked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The cases were presented by Prosecutor Thomas B. Hoxie. Circuit Court Judge John Lewis Marks Jr. presided.
Arraignment hearings will be at 9 a.m. on Oct. 30 at the Barbour County Courthouse.
An indictment is merely an accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty.
