Elkins-Randolph County Library showing gratitude all month
ELKINS — The Elkins-Randolph County Public Library is celebrating the month of November with the theme “Taste of Grateful” by honoring local organizations within the community who support the library and its events throughout the year.
The first week of November was spent honoring the Elkins Bookhounds Friends of the Library, with an information display at the entrance of the library.
Stephanie Murphy, executive director of the ERCPL, commented on the tremendous effort that the Elkins Bookhounds put forth to support and fund the library’s improvements, services and materials.
“We are ‘Most Grateful,’ however, for our Friends of the Library, the Elkins Bookhounds, who work tirelessly to provide the tools, upgrades and staffing so that our community has a quality library,” Murphy stated.
The Elkins Bookhounds work diligently throughout the year to focus public attention, raise money and provide funds for extensive services at the library.
In the second week of November, the library recognized the Elkins Police Department in honor of officers protecting and keeping the library safe for employees and users.
Week three will honor United States military veterans and their services to our country.
The last week of November will be dedicated to the Elkins Fire Department, and their services to the city and the county.
Each week this month, new displays are placed at the front of the library for the honored organizations, displaying the honored organization’s services and information.
Each week also features a new children’s display, showcasing children’s books on the different honored organizations.
More information about the displays and honored organizations can be found on the ERCPL website at https://elkins.lib.wv.us/.
