ELKINS — The Randolph County United Way is gearing up to host a fundraiser that will delight your tastebuds and provide a chance for people to give back to their local communities.

The United Way will be hosting its annual “Meatball Hoagie Sale” from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8 at the First United Methodist Church in Elkins.

Karrah Washington, executive director of the Randolph County United Way, said the organization hopes to sell 600 tickets for this year’s event.

“Last year this fundraiser was very successful and helped us to generate funding for our nonprofit partner agencies,” Washington said. “We were able to raise approximately $4,500, and we hope to sell 150 additional tickets this year to allow us to provide even more assistance to our partner agencies.”

Washington noted the fundraiser will feature the St. Patrick’s Ladies Guild of Coalton’s signature meatballs.

The meal will include a meatball hoagie, chips and a bottle of water for $10.

Individuals may contact Washington at 304-636-0516 for additional details or to purchase a ticket.

All proceeds will benefit the United Way’s 21 nonprofit partner agencies in Randolph County.

Event sponsors include Mountaineer Insurance Agency and Huntington Bank.
