Junior Golf

Submitted photo The Elks John Ballentyne Memorial Junior Golf Association had another successful summer session this year at the Elks golf course in Elkins. The attendance was 40 youth between the ages of 6-18. The children receive free lessons, a golf shirt with the Elks logo, a new golf club for them to keep and practice balls. The last class there was a drive, chip and putt competition. The winners of the game received a trophy for first, second and third place as well as a participation trophy. The Elks Lodge 1135 treated the class with a pizza party. The junior golf program is made possible with the financial support from Elks Lodge 1135, the Snowshoe Foundation. Tygart Valley Lions Club, Kiwanis Club, Elks Ladies Golf League, Jay and Jill Dialer, County Commission and Reckart Logistics.
