Mr. Earl R. “Dick” “Bus” Loar, 83, a resident of the Talbott Road in Belington, departed this life early Monday morning, Jan. 14, 2013, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 6, 1929, in Barbour County, a son of the late Ada Loar.
On Aug. 24, 1951, at Oakland Md., he was united in marriage to the former Pauline Durrett, who survives at their home near Belington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one half sister, Lola Mae of Ohio; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, June and Leo Ware of Belington; a whole host of friends; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one half sister, Sara Grace.
Mr. Loar attended the schools of Barbour County and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was self-employed most of his adult life dealing in buying and selling automobiles and heavy equipment. He was a Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received from Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16. A private interment will take place Thursday in Concord Cemetery near Belington.
