Mr. Clyde W. Cosner, 88, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, 2013, in Colonial Place Assisted Living Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. today from Tomblyn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jonas Johnson Jr. will officiate, and interment will follow in Bayard Cemetery at Bayard.

Clyde Cosner

Mr. Clyde W. Cosner, 88, a resident of Elkins, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, 2013, in Colonial Place Assisted Living Center.

He was born at Gormania, Dec. 8, 1924, a son of the late Lottie and Carl Cosner of Bayard.

He was married to the late Dorwina Cosner of Bayard.

He worked for 38 years with CSX Railroad and served in the Army during World War II.

Surviving are his sister, Mary Louise Layton and husband, George, of Bayard; and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cosner of Fairmont; two daughters, Darlene E. Isner and husband, Paul, of Enterprise and Joan E. Cosner of Fairmont; as well as two grandsons, John E. King of North Pole, Alaska, and Michael King of Winter Haven, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Shannon King of Inverness, Fla. and her mother, Carla King. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were two sisters, Elva Nardi of Fairmont and Elsie Lee Montgomery of Massachusetts; two brothers, Jimmie Cosner of Fairmont and Johnny Cosner of Bayard; a grandson, Richard R. King of Inverness, Fla.; and great-grandson, James Paul King of Inverness, Fla.

A special thanks to Marlene and Phil Kyle for the many years of friendship, care and support and Fields Meadows for being a great friend and support as well. The family would also like to thank Colonial Place Assisted Living and Hospice Care Corp. for their service and support.
