Joseph Noah Biby, 97, of Roseland, Va., formerly of Seneca Rocks, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at the home of his son, Wayne in Roseland, Va.
He was born May 27, 1915, at Teterton, the son of the late Francis Marion and Bessie Catherine Painter Biby.
Joseph was twice married and was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Grace Vandevander; and his second wife, Jean Elizabeth Elliott on Oct. 2, 2007.
Mr. Biby was a graduate of Circleville High School and was a member of Brushy Run Church of the Brethren. He was a charter member of Seneca Rocks Volunteer Fire Department. He worked as an inspector for Glen Martin Aviation which is now Martin Marietta and also worked for Boeing Aviation. Joseph retired from Amtrac Railroad in 1980.
Mr. Biby is survived by a daughter, Shelva Jean Biby of Baltimore, Md.; a son, Wayne Biby and wife Linda (Kalb) Biby of Roseland, VA.; a sister, Priscilla Teter of Onego; and six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Bonnie Shirk, Margaret Landis, Catherine McMillion and Faye Kennedy.
Mr. Biby’s family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin. Pastor Larry Showalter will officiate funeral services Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in North Fork Memorial Cemetery at Riverton.
