Ora Bird Noell, 78, of Route 1, Philippi, died Thursday afternoon, Feb. 21, 2013, in Broaddus Hospital.
She was born Nov. 6, 1934, at Meadowville, a daughter of the late Albert Jessie and Lula Bird Sherman Wilson.
Her husband, James Arthur Noell preceded her in death July 16, 1981.
Surviving are three daughters, Michelle Carpenter and husband, Steve, of Belington, Patricia Carpenter and husband, Tom, of Mobile, Ala., and Betty Bartlett and husband, Russell, of Bridgeport; one son, James Edward Noell and wife, Nancy, of Philippi; one stepson, Woodrow Cole and wife, Mary, of Volga; and 28 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Icalee Helmick.
Mrs. Noell was a homemaker and attended Corley United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, from Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 S. Main St. in Philippi. The Rev. James “Oz” Gray will officiate, and interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, on Sunday.
