Ethel Judy

Ethel Long Judy, 98, a resident of Colonial Place at Elkins, departed this life Friday, March 1, 2013, at Hospice Care Regional Inpatient Center at Elkins.

Ethel was born on June 1, 1914, in Harman, the daughter of the late Branson Wolford and Flona Yokum Wolford.

She was twice married. First on Aug. 6, 1931, to Russell H. Long, who proceeded her in death, and then on May 7, 1994, she married Isaac Judy, who proceeded her in death.

She is survived by a daughter, Luceba Simmons and husband, Hoye, of Harman; and a son, Dr. Harper Long and wife, Sherlyn, of State College, Pa.; two grandchildren, Carolyn Pingley and husband, John, of Beverly, and Kyle Long, of State College, Pa.; two great- grandchildren, Amanda Marcum , of Elkins, and Shane Yokum, of Jane Lew; three great- great-grandchildren, Rhea Yokum, Kaden Marcum and Lyra Yokum.

Ethel was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the Harman Ladies Auxiliary, and a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star.

In honoring Ms. Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated.
